Conservatory Guided Tours

Join us on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the Month at 2:30 PM

for a Master Gardener Led Tour of the Conservatory
Free with Paid Admission

Conservatory Crossing

Date: November 29 – December 31

Time: Monday – Saturday 10:00 am-5:00 pm   |    Sundays 1:00 pm-5:00 pm

Fee: $4 per person or $10 per family (2 adult max.) Ages: All

 

Come enjoy our winter wonderland!  See the Conservatory decked out in its holiday best with a brilliant display of poinsettias and enjoy model trains and villages, and thousands of twinkling lights.  Special evening hours until 8pm December 20-22, and 27 & 28.

 

Herbal Gifts - Adults

Date: Saturday, December 7

Time: 10 – 11:30 am

Fee: $5      Ages: 16 and up

Join the Herb Society of Central Indiana for a holiday craft workshop.  Attendees to this popular program will receive snacks, recipes, and handouts in addition to the opportunity to make gifts for family and friends. Registration required.

 

Train Tales

Date: Tuesday, December 10 & Wednesday, December 11

Time: 10 - 11 am

Fee: $6 per child     Ages: 2-5

Bring your preschooler to this program with a focus on the natural world.  Join us for a different nature-related story, activity and craft each month.  In December, we will have Train Tales to enjoy Conservatory Crossing and a Wednesday session is also available.  Registration required. ​

 

Christmas at Garfield

Date: Saturday, December 14

Time: 10 - 1 pm

Fee: FREE     Ages: All

Enjoy free holiday activities throughout Garfield Park! Don’t miss crafts at the Arts Center, games at the Family Center and Santa Claus at the Conservatory.  ​

 

Holiday Storytime

Date: Friday, December 20

Time: 6:15-7:15 pm

Fee: $15 per family or $7 per person     Ages: All

Join us for a reading of The Polar Express complete with hot chocolate, a craft and a chance to explore Conservatory Crossing. This program is geared towards kids ages 4-8, but all families are welcome.  Program fee includes admission to the Conservatory (open until 8pm).  Registration required, as space is limited.

 

Jungle Tales

Date: Tuesday, January 14

Time: 10 - 11 am

Fee: $5 per child     Ages: 2-5

Tea Cup Planters

Date: Saturday, January 25

Time: 2 – 3 pm

Fee: $10      Ages: Adult

Need to get your gardening fix this winter?  Bring an old cup or bowl and we’ll teach you how to make a succulent planter to brighten up your indoors!  Registration required.

Wintertime Fun!

Date: Wednesday, January 29

Time: 10 - 11 am

Fee: $5 per child     Ages: 2-5

What is going on out there this winter? Learn about what our animal friends are doing while we're all bundled up inside. Program will include a story, craft and more! Registration required.

 

Saturday Storytime

Date: Saturday, February 1st

Time: 10:30 -11:30 AM

Fee: $5 per child     Ages: 2-5

Bring the little ones by for a jungle-themed story, craft and chance to explore the Conservatory.  Registration required.

Sweets for Your Sweetie

Date: Friday, February 14

Times: 6:30 - 8 PM (A) | 8 - 9:30 (B)

Fee: $10 per person    Ages: Adult

 

Celebrate Valentine's Day with treats from the tropics including chocolate and coffee, all while enjoying the candlelit romantic atmosphere of the Conservatory.  Reserve your spot early as program usually fills. 

 

Creature Feature

Date: Monday, February 17

Time: 10 - 11 am

Fee: $5 per child     Ages: 3-10

It's Presidents' Day and many kids are off school! Join us and spend some time meeting our resident educational critters. Learn about what they like to eat, make a craft and explore the Conservatory. Registration required.​

Conversations on Coffee

Date: Saturday, February 22

Time: 10 – 11:30 am

Fee: $10      Ages: Adult

Discover the history of coffee and how it's made. Meet our resident Coffee tree and try samples of different roasts of coffee. Participants will also get to decorate their own mug to take home. Registration required.

 

Early Morning Photography

Date: Saturday, February 29

Time: 8:30 - 1 pm

Fee: $6     Ages: Adult

​Don't miss this opportunity to practice your photography skills in the morning before the Conservatory opens. The Conservatory is full of beautiful spring tulips, daffodils and hyacinths of many colors, plus tropical orchids, palms, ferns and so much more! Each photographer will be allowed a tripod during this event. Make sure to register, as space is limited.
