Snake Snacks
Date: Saturday, October 5th, 2024

Time: 2 pm

Fee: FREE | DROP-IN | ALL AGES

Visit with us in the Children's Garden and learn all about our resident Corn Snakes. After, watch as they're fed a tasty meal!

Jungle Tales
Date: Tuesday, October 8th, 2024

Time: 10-11 am

Fee: $6 per child     Ages: 2-5

​Bring your preschooler to this program with a focus on the natural world. Join us for a story, activity and craft each month. Registration required. 

Fall Planters

Date: Saturday, October 12th, 2024

Time: 12-1 pm

Fee: $20 per planter

Ages: 8+ (under 8 w/adult guidance)

 

Join our naturalist in the Children's Garden this fall to create and take home your very own fall planter. We'll provide the beautiful fall plants, planter, decorations and soil- you provide the creativity! Visit with us and learn the tricks of the trade when it comes to arranging your planter!

 

Garden Storytime
Date: Friday, October 18th, 2024
Time: 10 am

Fee: FREE | DROP-IN    Ages: All (Recommended Ages 2-8)

Join us in Blake’s Children’s Garden as we learn about nature through a story reading. After the reading children are encouraged to stay and explore the garden. This program is free and open to anyone wishing to attend. The target age range is 2-8 years old.

Program will be moved into the classroom in case of inclement weather.

Central Indiana Herb Society: Soapmaking with Herbs
Date: Saturday, October 19th, 2024
Time: 10-11:30 am

Fee: $6       Ages: 16 and up
 

Join the Herb Society of Central Indiana for an opportunity to learn more about soap making. Program will include recipes, handouts and a hands-on workshop.

Owls of Indiana - Pellet Dissection

Date: Saturday, October 19th, 2024

Time: 2-3pm

Fee: $6    Ages: 6+

What is an "owl pellet," and why are we dissecting it? Join us and learn about the various species of owls that visit Indiana, and dissect an owl pellet to discover what's inside! 

Critter Chat
Date: Saturday, October 26th, 2024
Time: 12-1 pm
Fee: FREE | DROP-IN    Ages: All

No registration needed. Drop-in program. Will be held in Blake's Children's Garden at the Conservatory unless weather is an issue. Otherwise, it will be held in classroom or gazebo room of Conservatory. Check-in at front desk to confirm location of program on the day of.

Creepy Creatures

Date: Wednesday, October 30th, 2024

Time: 10-11 am

Fee: $6 per child   Ages: 2-8

 

Put on your Halloween costume and come learn about some creepy and not-so-creepy creatures. Have fun meeting live critters and doing a craft. Registration required.

Haunted Conservatory

Date: Wednesday & Thursday, October 23rd & 24th, 2024

Time: 5:30-9:00 PM

Fee: $6 per person | 2 and Under Free   Ages: 2-8

 

5:30 - 7:00 PM | Less Haunted Conservatory. Bring the little ones in their costumes for Halloween fun during our less scary daylight hours of the Haunted Conservatory. There will be no scarers. Just tropical plants all decked out for Halloween.

 

7:00 - 9:00 PM | Get spooked as you walk through the Haunted Conservatory, complete with scary music, decoration and ghouls! (recommended for ages 8+)

 

No pre-registration; admission is paid at the door.

Note: Event includes the use of strobe lights and artificial fog.

Month 2

Holiday Jewelry Gift Making
Date: Saturday, November 2nd, 2024

Time: 12-2 pm

Fee: $15 per person      Ages: 12 and up

Are you looking for a handmade and unique gift for a loved one? Join us for this creative event and take home a piece of jewelry made by you, with love!
Take your pick in creating a pair of earrings, a necklace, or a keychain comprised of pressed flowers and other flora encased in resin. You'll take a completed piece home with you at the end of the workshop!

Jungle Tales

Natural Wreaths

Date: Thursday, November 7th, 2024

Time: 6-7 pm

Fee: $20 per wreath

Ages: 3 and up (3-8 with adult guidance)

 

Make a fall or holiday wreath using natural materials, ribbons, Christmas ornaments, among other assorted items. These wreaths are perfect for holiday decorations, a front door or as a Thanksgiving table centerpiece. You can also bring your own natural materials or mementos to put on your wreath.

Register for 1 spot for each wreath being made. Wreaths can be made individually or as a group.

Wreaths are approximately 12" in diameter.

 

Central Indiana Herb Society: Holiday Herb Workshop

Date: Saturday, November 16th, 2024
Time: 10-11:30 am

Fee: $6       Ages: 16 and up

The Annual Central Indiana Herb Society Holiday Workshop, where you can make and take herbal gifts. Handouts and recipes will be available. Take home items / gifts will be a surprise. We try to do different gifts each year.

Coffee and Conservation
Date: Thursday, November 14th, 2024

Time: 6-7 pm

Fee: $10       Ages: 16 and up
 

Join us as we discover the history of coffee and gain a greater appreciation for one of our favorite beverages. Learn more about how coffee can be grown in harmony with the rainforest and protect Indiana native migratory birds. Registration required.

We will also be decorating plain white ceramic coffee mugs to take home. Those are included in the program fee.

Conservatory Crossing
Date: Friday, November 29th - Sunday, December 29, 2024

Times: Tues-Sat: 10 AM - 5 PM | Sundays: 1-5 PM

Fee: $6 per person | $14 per family       Ages: ALL

2 and under are Free
 

Come enjoy our winter wonderland! See the Conservatory decked out in its holiday best with a brilliant display of poinsettias, model trains and village, and thousands of twinkling lights. A family rate consists of 2 adults (an adult is anyone 18 or older) and any children under 18 in the party.

Evening hours until 8 PM: Sundays December 1, 8, 15 and 22nd.

Train Tales

Join us for a holiday train-themed program. Little ones will listen to a story, do a craft and enjoy Conservatory Crossing with a scavenger hunt. Registration is required, as capacity is limited. There is also a Wednesday session of this program if the Tuesday one is full.
