Recycled Valentines Cards

Show your love for our planet while showing your love for others, by making Valentine’s cards from recycled materials. Registration required.
Reptile and Amphibian Show
Date: Saturday, February 8th, 2025

Ages: ALL Fee: FREE
The Hoosier Herpetological Society is back to share some of their favorite reptiles and amphibians! Stop by and see what cool critters they have brought with them this time! Admission is free! (Donations will be accepted.)

Snake Snacks

Have you ever had the opportunity to see a snake eat? How about TWO?!
We welcome you to join us for this free event at the Garfield Park Conservatory. Spend time with us as our naturalist feeds our two Corn Snakes and discuss the consumption and digestive process.
Sweets for Your Sweetie
Date: Friday, February 14th, 2025

Ages: 18 and up Fee: $15 per person
Celebrate Valentine's Day with treats from the tropics including chocolate and coffee, all while enjoying the candlelit romantic atmosphere of the Conservatory. Make reservations early, as space is limited.
Coffee and Conservation
Date: Saturday, February 15th, 2025
Time: 11 am - 12 pm
Ages: 16 and up
Fee: $10 per person
Join us as we discover the history of coffee and gain a greater appreciation for one of our favorite beverages. Learn more about how coffee can be grown in harmony with the rainforest and protect Indiana native migratory birds. Registration required.
We will also be decorating plain white ceramic coffee mugs to take home. Those are included in the program fee.
Spring Bulb Show
Date: February 28th - March 7th, 2025
Time: Tues-Sat: 10 am - 5 pm | Sun: 1-5 pm
Ages: ALL Fee: $6 per person | $14 per family
It’s springtime at the Garfield Conservatory! Come see our stunning display of tulips and other spring blooms against the backdrop of our permanent tropical collection.
Bulbs from the display will be for a sale beginning Saturday, March 8 at 10:00 am.

Early Morning Photography
Date: Saturday, March 1st, 2025 Time: 8-10 am
Ages: 18 and up Fee: $8 per person
Don't miss this opportunity to practice your photography skills in the morning before the Conservatory opens. The Conservatory is full of beautiful spring tulips, daffodils and hyacinths of many colors, plus tropical orchids, palms, ferns and so much more! Each photographer will be allowed a tripod during this event. Make sure to register, as space is limited. Program is for hobby plant photography. No commercial and/or portrait photography permitted.
Spring Bulb Sale
Date: Saturday, March 8th, 2025
Time: 10 am - 1 pm
Ages: ALL Fee: FREE (admission to sale)
Plants from the Spring Bulb Show will be for sale beginning at 10 a.m., while supplies last. The Conservatory will open at 1 PM for regular visitation. The hours of 10 am - 1 pm are for the SALE ONLY!
Jungle Tales
Date: March 11th, 2025 Time: 10-11 am
Ages: 2-5 Fee: $6 (includes 1 adult adm)
Bring your preschooler to this program with a focus on the natural world. Join us for a different nature-related story, activity and craft each month. Registration required.
Herb Society of Central Indiana: Starting Herbs from Seed
Date: March 15th, 2025 Time: 10-11:30 am
Ages: 16 and up Fee: $6 per person
Join the Central Indiana Herb Society for a fun workshop about starting herbs from seed. Many believe this to be a hard task, but the Herb Society will show you just how easy it is and there will even be a take home craft. Registration required.
Gnome Away from Home
Date: Friday, March 21st - Sunday, April 6th, 2025
Time: Tues-Sat: 10 am - 5 pm | Sun: 1-5 pm
Ages: ALL Fee: $6 per person | $14 per family
This year's theme is not about WHERE in the world, but WHEN! The Gnomes are hopping on a time machine!
This spring break garden gnomes from far and wide will gather at the Conservatory! See this whimsical display of garden gnomes and try to spot them all! Contact the staff for information about loaning a gnome to be part of the display. We will start taking loaner gnomes after Valentine's Day. Remember the Conservatory is closed on Mondays.
Natural Gnomes
Date: Saturday, March 29th, 2025
Time: 11 am - 12 pm
Ages: 4-15
Fee: $12 per project
(can be done individually or as a group project)
Join us during our Gnomes on Spring Break Show for some additional magical fun. Bring your creativity and have fun making gnomes out of gourds and other natural materials. Registration required by March 26th.
Hot glue will be used and parents are asked to supervise or assist their children in using it. Tacky glue will also be available for objects that are able to take longer to set and it is advised to use this with kids when possible.
